About Us
The Red Shoot Camping Park is situated in one of the most attractive and unspoilt parts of the New Forest. It lies behind the Red Shoot Inn on 4 acres of level and gently undulating ground, surrounded by the most magnificent forest scenery. With over 90,000 acres of woodland and heath, the New Forest is the perfect place for the nature lover, and an ideal base for walking and touring.
The site has been run by the same family for over 40 years, and you will be assured of attention to detail and a personal approach during your stay.
Many interesting places can be reached from the Red Shoot Camping Park. Ringwood, with its Wednesday market, just 5 miles away; 7 miles of golden sand at Bournemouth; the Priory and town of Christchurch; Lymington for the Isle of Wight ferry; the historic cities of Salisbury and Winchester, and the naval history of Portsmouth, may all be reached by car in 30-40 minutes. A little further afield lies the Hardy country of Dorset. Nearer to base, there are many forest trails to explore, horse riding, and excellent fishing.
Beer Festivals. There is always a warm welcome at the adjacent Red Shoot Inn , where a wide range of bar meals, real ales and country wines are served. The landlord personally brews several real ales, and twice a year, hosts a beer festival. Beer festivals for 2012 will be on the weekends of 27th - 28th April and 5th - 6th October.
The Red Shoot will play host to the second annual Ringwood Rabbit Run on the 25th March 2012. Split into two races, one at 10km and the other at 5km this is a race for both the keen runner and those that want to just give it a try.
The New Forest Festival Of Running on the weekend of the 10th and 11th March promises to be the biggest and best weekend of running the south has seen for many years – and what makes it better, it’s done the Naked Strength way so there’s something for everyone to take part in.
